I’m too blind to see failure, too stupid to accept defeat, and too ignorant to listen when people are right.
Potential good news: the belt appears fine from the inspection whole, perhaps it didn’t fail on me?
I went ahead and purchased trams fluid, and new speed and reference sensors to see if they’ll fix my “no start” issue. This is literally the last thing I can do, aside from checking for spark at the coil or wires, before I throw in the towel. It would be an awesome birthday gift if this actually works though.
Don't wish me luck on this one.

I’d recommend starting with looking for spark, rather than throwing parts at the problem. Diagnose, then repair.

Perhaps this is a trial to make it that much sweeter for your birthday.
Perhaps...
indeed.

1) Check for spark first. Look up how to do it. If you can’t figure out how to check for spark on a car like this, then you might want to put off wrenching solo on it.
2) How many forums besides oppo have you hit up in looking for help on this? I will bet my FiST someone has had the same problem and solved it. Knowing your issue doesn’t fix the problem, but it helps you set goals.
3) If this doesn’t work - spend a weekend or some nights doing diagnostics , not just running around blindly. Do you have some way to measure voltage and current? Have you tested the battery? I just solved a no-start on my bike by cleaning corrosion off of cables and re-wrapping them in electrical tape (it’s an old honda - they included electrical tape frm the factory because that’s how you fix them).
4) As others have said, don’t throw the whole thing out because of a single issue. I finally threw in the towel after a YEAR of my Audi sitting because I knew it was going nowhere and the issues needed parts and money I didn’t have. You have had this car for what, not even a year?

Stop whining, roll up your sleeves and get balls-deep in this bitch. Sometimes classic car ownership isn’t all unicorn farts and fairy dust.

This. I don’t know why you suspected a belt slippage, but if it has anything to do with the fact you changed it without the proper tensioning tool for this car you are setting yourself up for a world of hurt. Its an interference engine.. do you have compression? If it wouldn’t start after changing it did you make sure everything is plugged back in correctly? If you suspect there is a problem with something as critical as the timing belt on an engine like this you can go from rebuild to scrap real fast dicking around, you need to know. Your impatience may end up turning this car into a total loss.

I’ll pass on the unicorn farts. A unicorn farted towards my SL last week and the turn signal fell off while the car was trying to gasp for fresh air.

I can’t edit but looking at that post again you changed the alternator belt. If you have reason to suspect it’s the timing belt take it seriously, otherwise you are just jumping to conclusions, make sure you have spark and make sure you have fuel, this is a really basic engine, it’s not going be hard to track down the problem.
